Just Plane Shades was developed by a pilot who spent his younger years tinting windows in Florida for extra spending money. After going to college for aeronautics (and accruing a lot of air time) he became a commercial airline pilot where he noticed many of his copilots trying to find ways to adjust for their long, sunny and warm flights ahead. Some pilots would layer on sunscreen while others kept their sunglasses and hat on during their entire trip. Some pilots would even tape their maps onto the window to block the glare of the sun. "I'm just getting tired of being "cooked" in the cockpit!" said one fellow copilot.
That is when the idea for Just Plane Shades was born.
Our developer learned a lot about tint from his days as a window tinter, and knew it would be useful in cutting out the heat and glare in the cockpit. One day he brought in a square of the darkest tint and adhered it to his cockpit window before flight. It DID cut down on the glare, and the temperature in the cockpit was significantly lower! After a few flights the other pilots were putting in their orders.
Just Plane Shades are made from the darkest window tint available! Each shade is custom cut for a specific aircraft model and will block the glare and UV rays from the sun, while keeping the cockpit cool.
The aircraft window tint is easy to use! Unfold it, position and stick it onto the window . That's it! No glue or solvents needed. After your trip is done just pull it off, refold and pack it up in the resealable bag for your next flight. Clean with soap and water.
